Introduction. Insect size and ecological implications. Physiological ecology (abiotic factors). Seasonal adaptations (migration, diapause). Insect sociality. Behavioral ecology (chemical communication and foraging theory). Community ecology (insect-plant interaction, plant stress, competition and trophic interactions). Population ecology (density, dispersion, sampling, biotic potential, birth rate and mortality). Population regulation and age structure. Population dynamics (analysis and modeling). Ecosystem services. Applied ecology and strategies for population management.
